This role is responsible for leading and executing the institution’s international student recruitment strategy, ensuring the successful enrollment of a diverse and qualified global student body.
The International Director of Admissions will oversee international recruitment initiatives, partnerships, and engagement efforts while ensuring compliance with relevant immigration policies. This position requires a dynamic leader with strong strategic planning abilities, data-driven decision-making skills, and a deep understanding of global higher education trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Enrollment Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive international admissions strategy aligned with institutional goals, focusing on recruitment, retention, and diversity.
- Global Recruitment & Outreach: Establish and maintain strong relationships with international schools, education agencies, and government organizations to drive student applications.
- Application & Enrollment Management: Oversee the evaluation of international applications, ensuring adherence to admission standards and immigration policies.
- Partnership Development: Build strategic alliances with foreign institutions, scholarship providers, and recruitment agencies to enhance student pipelines.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze enrollment trends and market data to refine recruitment strategies and optimize conversion rates.
- Compliance & Visa Support: Ensure all admissions processes comply with U.S. and international student visa regulations, working closely with designated school officials (DSOs).
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of international admissions professionals, providing guidance and performance oversight.
- Marketing & Branding: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop culturally relevant campaigns and materials that resonate with prospective students in target regions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, international relations, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in international admissions or student recruitment within higher education.
- Expertise in international student recruitment trends, visa policies, and compliance regulations (e.g., SEVP, F-1 visas).
- Proven success in developing and executing global recruitment strategies, including working with international partners.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using CRM systems, enrollment data, and market research to inform decision-making.
- Excellent communication, cross-cultural awareness, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to travel internationally as needed.
