We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our client’s team in Utica, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing professional dental cleaning, hygiene, and preventive services to our patients. This role requires a commitment to patient care, the ability to work collaboratively with our dental team, and a strong foundation in dental hygiene practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct dental assessments and review oral health history
- Perform professional dental cleaning, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
- Apply preventive materials to teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and the importance of oral health
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Maintain patient records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Work closely with dentists to assist in identifying and treating oral health issues
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in dental hygiene
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from an accredited institution
- Valid New York State Dental Hygienist license
- CPR certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in dental software and digital x-ray systems
- Commitment to providing high-quality care and patient education
- Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to practice protocols
