Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a compelling vision for the College of Education that aligns with the university’s strategic priorities.
- Promote a culture of innovation, inclusion, and academic excellence across the college.
- Lead the college’s strategic planning, ensuring growth in enrollment, programs, and research initiatives.
Academic Excellence:
- The Dean, College of Education will oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs to meet evolving educational needs.
- Ensure compliance with state, national, and accreditation standards for teacher preparation and education programs.
- Champion the adoption of innovative teaching methods and curriculum design.
Research and Innovation:
- Foster a culture of research excellence, increasing grant-funded initiatives and interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Support faculty research that addresses critical issues in education and enhances the college’s reputation as a leader in education research and policy.
Student and Faculty Success:
- Drive initiatives that support student success, recruitment, and retention within the College of Education.

Community and Partnership Development:
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with K-12 schools, state education agencies, and other educational institutions.
- Advocate for the college at the local, state, and national levels, promoting its programs, research, and community impact.
- Engage with alumni, donors, and stakeholders to support fundraising and resource development efforts.
Operational Management:
- Manage the college’s budget, resources, and infrastructure to ensure financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee accreditation processes and ensure high standards of quality across all programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
- An earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in Education or a closely related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of leadership experience in higher education, with a record of success as a department chair, associate dean, dean, or similar role.
- Demonstrated success in leading academic programs, driving enrollment growth, and fostering innovation.
- Proven ability to secure external funding through grants, partnerships, or philanthropy.
- Experience building collaborative relationships with K-12 systems, state education agencies, and other community partners.
