Undergraduate Program Lead and Senior Lecturer
This is a dual-function academic appointment combining program leadership with active teaching responsibilities. The successful candidate will serve as the primary academic steward for undergraduate provision at the institution’s Miami campus, responsible for both the integrity of the program and the quality of the student experience at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership and Program Management
- Serve as Undergraduate Program Lead, with responsibility for academic coherence, curriculum quality, and overall student experience across the program.
- Lead program review, enhancement, and quality assurance processes in compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
- Coordinate teaching teams, assessment schedules, moderation, and engagement with external examiners.
- Ensure alignment with institutional academic regulations, strategic priorities, and regulatory requirements.
Teaching and Learning
- Design and deliver high-quality instruction across undergraduate modules in the relevant discipline.
- Develop inclusive and innovative teaching approaches that support diverse learners and actively address attainment gaps.
- Set, grade, and moderate assessments, providing timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to students.
- Serve as Academic Advisor, providing both academic and pastoral support to a caseload of students throughout their program.
Student Experience and Career Readiness
- Embed employability, professional skills, and experiential learning opportunities meaningfully into the curriculum.
- Support student engagement, retention, progression, and overall satisfaction at the program level.
- Contribute to open houses, applicant engagement events, orientation programs, and community outreach initiatives.
- Champion student wellbeing and act as an early point of contact for students facing academic or personal challenges.
Research, Scholarship and Professional Practice
- Engage in research, scholarly activity, knowledge exchange, and/or professional practice to inform teaching and curriculum development.
- Contribute to the School’s academic and research culture through participation in seminars, working groups, and scholarly events.
- Maintain subject-matter expertise and actively participate in continuing professional development relevant to the discipline.
Academic Citizenship and External Engagement
- Participate in committees, assessment boards, validation panels, and academic review processes.
- Develop external partnerships to support internships, industry projects, guest speaker programs, and graduate recruitment initiatives.
- Actively promote equity, diversity, and inclusion across all areas of academic responsibility.
- Contribute to institutional initiatives and demonstrate the values and behaviors expected of a senior academic leader.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience teaching in higher education and/or further education settings.
- Experience with undergraduate program or module leadership.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and student success.
- Evidence of scholarly, research, or professional practice engagement relevant to the discipline.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Doctorate (PhD or Professional Doctorate) in a relevant field.
- Teaching qualification such as a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education or Fellowship in a recognized higher education teaching body.
- Experience with curriculum innovation, program redesign, or quality enhancement.
- Demonstrated industry collaboration, external partnership development, or applied research experience.
