MRI Clinical Coordinator
This is a core faculty appointment combining clinical education coordination with direct student support and site partnership development. The MRI Clinical Coordinator is the primary bridge between the academic program and the network of clinical externship sites that give students their hands-on preparation for careers in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Site visits are a regular component of this role and may be initiated by either the clinical partner or the Coordinator to assess site suitability and monitor student performance. Candidates must be prepared for local travel as a standard part of the position.
Key Responsibilities
Externship Coordination and Placement
- Arrange, manage, and oversee externship placements for MRI students across all program cohorts.
- Assist students with completing all required documentation prior to externship placement, including immunizations, transcripts, and certifications.
- Ensure compliance with all externship requirements across students and clinical sites.
- Deliver student orientation workshops related to externships and site assignments.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor student progress and maintain ongoing communication with clinical partners.
Clinical Site and Partnership Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clinical sites to support program needs and student placement.
- Ensure all site contracts and affiliation agreements are current and compliant with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct preliminary evaluations of potential externship sites to assess suitability and program alignment.
- Develop and implement strategies to strengthen and sustain clinical partnerships over time.
Faculty and Preceptor Support
- Train, support, and maintain regular communication with clinical preceptors at all affiliated sites.
- Collaborate closely with the Registrar to ensure accurate and current student documentation.
- Review externship documentation and evaluate student learning outcomes throughout each placement.
Administrative and Program Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume of phone calls, emails, data entry, and student records with accuracy and efficiency.
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the MRI Program Director.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Essential Experience and Education
- Minimum of 3 years of professional MRI clinical experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Active ARMRIT or ARRT (MR) certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work a flexible schedule.
- Strong communication skills with students, faculty, and clinical partners.
- Ability to travel locally for regular clinical site visits.
Desirable Experience and Education
- Experience assessing student learning outcomes in a clinical or educational setting.
- Prior experience working in a college, postsecondary, or vocational education environment.
- Familiarity with distance learning or alternative instructional delivery methods.
