Director of Training, Electrical Applications Program – Houston, TX

Position Summary:
The role is centered on enhancing student and faculty satisfaction, ensuring adherence to academic standards and policies, and leading the recruitment, training, and development of top-notch instructors with a focus on maximizing student retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee communication to ensure the achievement of syllabi goals and phase objectives, adherence to syllabi, lesson plans, and curriculum.
  • Monitor educational materials, including handouts, videos, and texts, for currency and correct application, ensuring consistency across instructors.
  • Assess prospective instructors’ program tests and, alongside Lead Instructors, evaluate their lab interactions.
  • Facilitate Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings with the Director of Education and the Campus President, implementing resulting changes.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Department on organizing external program services, contests, competitions, and recruitment event demonstrations.
  • Participate in industry-related association meetings, possibly serving as a board member or volunteer, and ensure instructors have access to relevant periodicals and meeting schedules.
  • Train and supervise instructors on teaching methods.
  • Support instructors or students in mastering the subject matter.
  • Continuously evaluate employee performance.
  • Prepare weekly and/or monthly reports as required.
  • Analyze reports to identify issues and devise solutions.
  • Oversee the interview, hiring, and training process; manage employee performance appraisals, rewards, disciplinary actions, and address complaints.

Required Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two years’ experience in a related field. A combination of a bachelor’s degree and at least ten years of related experience is preferred.

People Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of employees in the Education Department, implementing supervisory duties in line with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Physical Environment:

  • Primarily office-based, with a climate-controlled setting.
  • Involves prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
  • May require occasional stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Some tasks may be performed in classroom or workshop settings.
