Director of Admissions, Nursing Programs  – New York, NY

The Director of Admissions – Nursing Programs is a senior leadership role responsible for driving enrollment performance across nursing programs. This position manages a distributed admissions team and works cross-functionally to build scalable systems, develop staff, and meet institutional enrollment goals. The right candidate brings a data-informed approach to decision-making, a track record of building high-performing teams, and a genuine investment in student access and success.

Key Responsibilities

Enrollment Strategy & Operations

  • Owns the end-to-end enrollment pipeline for nursing programs, from lead management through matriculation.
  • Develops and maintains operational roadmaps aligned to enrollment targets.
  • Partners with marketing to align lead generation efforts with admissions capacity and conversion goals.
  • Keeps registrar, finance, and student services teams informed and aligned through regular cross-departmental communication.
  • Produces weekly, monthly, and term-level enrollment reporting for executive leadership.
  • Manages departmental budgeting and goal-setting within the broader institutional growth framework.
  • Leads implementation of admissions policies, procedures, and training programs across the team.

Performance & Quality Management

  • Monitors frontline staff performance through direct observation, call reviews, and structured feedback cycles.
  • Evaluates admissions technology stack, including CRM and telephony systems, and recommends improvements.
  • Coordinates annual secret shopping engagements with third-party vendors and presents findings to leadership.
  • Identifies coaching opportunities and compliance risks; escalates issues through appropriate written and verbal channels.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Establishes a team culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Recruits, develops, and retains admissions professionals at both the representative and management levels.
  • Contributes to executive-level strategic planning as a standing member of institutional leadership.
  • Sets program-level enrollment benchmarks for each term and works with campus directors to track performance against goals.

Nursing Admissions Representatives and Admissions Coordinators

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Minimum three years of admissions or enrollment management experience in a higher education setting.
  • Prior experience supervising managers or team leads.
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort working in data-heavy environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and familiarity with virtual collaboration platforms.

Preferred

  • Five or more years in higher education enrollment or admissions leadership.
  • Background in nursing, allied health, or healthcare-adjacent program recruitment.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Anthology, or comparable enrollment CRM systems.
