The Associate Dean of Nursing supports the Dean in leading both on-ground and online academic teams to deliver high-quality instruction and strong student outcomes. This role assists in overseeing program operations, ensuring compliance with all accrediting and regulatory standards, and maintaining a culture of academic excellence. Excelon Associates is recruiting this position on behalf of a higher education institution in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada.
Required Licensure
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the province of New Brunswick, Canada is required at time of application.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Administration

  • Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students across on-ground and online program delivery.
  • Oversee program development, planning, implementation, evaluation, and accreditation activities.
  • Manage day-to-day administrative operations of the nursing program.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional regulations, policies, and the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain compliance with programmatic and institutional accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Dean on long-term strategic planning for the nursing program.

Academic and Program Oversight

  • Monitor trends in nursing practice, education, and research to keep program content current and competitive.
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with clinical sites, community organizations, and academic partners.
  • Attend required meetings and serve on institutional and program committees.
  • Support curriculum development and contribute to ongoing instructional effectiveness initiatives.

Professional Engagement

  • Participate in scholarship activities including research, writing, peer review, committee service, and leading professional initiatives — contributions that factor into performance evaluation and promotion decisions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet program and institutional needs.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in the province of New Brunswick.
  • Master’s or PhD in Nursing, preferably with a focus in nursing administration or nursing education.
  • Training or experience in teaching and learning principles, curriculum development, accreditation, and academic administration.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, including at least three years as a nurse educator or administrator.
  • Strong professionalism and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate mastery of theory and practice within the nursing discipline.
  • Compliance with all regulatory and academic credential requirements.

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, with at least two years preferred.
