Director of University Partnerships and Development – Sample Job Description

A leading higher education institution in South Florida is seeking a Director of University Partnerships and Development to drive strategic collaborations, expand institutional partnerships, and foster growth opportunities. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing key relationships with universities, corporate partners, and community organizations to enhance academic programs, increase enrollment, and support the university’s long-term vision.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic relationship-builder with extensive experience in higher education partnerships, corporate engagement, and program development. They will work closely with executive leadership, admissions, and academic departments to create initiatives that strengthen institutional collaborations and position the university as a leader in education, workforce development, and student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to establish and grow university, corporate, and community partnerships.
- Identify collaborative opportunities that align with institutional goals, including articulation agreements, dual enrollment programs, and workforce development initiatives.
- Negotiate and formalize MOUs, articulation agreements, and joint program initiatives to expand academic offerings and student pathways.
- Cultivate relationships with university leaders, corporate executives, and government agencies to drive enrollment growth and educational access.
- Work closely with internal teams, including admissions, marketing, and academic affairs, to maximize partnership impact.
- Represent the institution at conferences, industry events, and networking forums to enhance visibility and thought leadership.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor initiatives, and emerging opportunities to inform partnership strategy.
- Ensure compliance with regional accreditation standards and institutional policies related to partnership agreements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Education, Business, Public Administration, or related field).
- 5+ years of experience in higher education, business development, or institutional partnerships.
- Strong track record of developing and managing university partnerships, articulation agreements, and enrollment growth strategies.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience collaborating with corporate partners, government agencies, and workforce development programs.
- Knowledge of higher education trends, accreditation standards, and student success initiatives.
- Ability to travel as needed for partnership meetings, industry events, and university engagements.
