The Director of Facilities manages and plans the activities of the facilities department, providing technical guidance and supervision to the team. Responsibilities include developing programs to control, eliminate, and prevent injuries related to chemical, physical, and ergonomic factors in the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Director of Facilities develops and oversees the maintenance program for buildings, grounds, equipment, and facilities.
- Manage space utilization and maintain relevant reports.
- Prioritize, schedule, and oversee maintenance and operational projects.
- Evaluate and recommend changes to facility plans and specifications.
- Ensure quality and responsiveness in maintenance and operations.
- Monitor project completion status and adjust resource allocation to align with institutional priorities.
- Approve work order requests and determine the most effective strategies.
- Manage equipment and supplies budgeting and procurement.
- Maintain compliance with government, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
- Implement worker safety measures and conduct related training and education programs.
- Perform inspections to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Manage departmental performance evaluations.
- Compile and analyze weekly/monthly reports for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Oversee the hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions within the department.
- Attend semi-annual graduation ceremonies.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience and/or training.
People Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of Facilities Department staff.
- Responsibilities executed in line with organizational policies and laws.
Physical Environment:
- Predominantly office-based work in a temperature-controlled environment.
- Requires sitting, using office equipment, and occasional physical activities like stooping, bending, and reaching.
