Respiratory Care Program Director – St. Augustine, Florida

Duration: 12-Month Faculty Position

A prominent institution in the healthcare education sector is seeking a full-time Program Director for its Respiratory Care Program. Key Responsibilities
This 12-month faculty position includes a blend of teaching, office hours, college service, and professional development as outlined by the institution’s guidelines. The responsibilities are as follows:

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction tailored to diverse student learning styles and academic backgrounds.
  • Utilize student engagement strategies and continuously refine teaching practices based on best practices in education.
  • Provide timely accommodations to students with disabilities.
  • Maintain regular attendance for scheduled classes and office hours.

College Service

  • Prepare lesson plans, grade assignments, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
  • Actively participate in department, division, and institutional planning, assessment, and accreditation activities.
  • Contribute to institutional programs, student activities, and mentorship initiatives.

Professional Development

  • Engage in professional development activities to remain current in the field and enhance teaching methodologies.

Program Director Responsibilities

  • Oversee the program’s organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and accreditation processes.
  • Collaborate with faculty and clinical sites to ensure the program’s success and effectiveness.
  • Manage a combination of daytime and evening teaching responsibilities, as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care or a health-related field from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensed in the State of Florida.
  • At least four years of experience as an RRT, with a minimum of two years in clinical respiratory care.
  • At least two years of teaching experience in an accredited respiratory care program, either as appointed faculty or as a clinical preceptor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a health-related field.
