Medical Radiography Instructor – Nashville, TN

The Medical Radiography Instructor is responsible for participating in the development and implementation of a high-quality curriculum that delivers up-to-date medical radiography education. This role involves both short- and long-term program planning and requires contemporary expertise in the field. Instructors are expected to demonstrate effectiveness in teaching, evaluating, and mentoring students as they prepare to enter a dynamic and challenging profession.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in alignment with approved course descriptions, learning outcomes, syllabi, and institutional policies.
  • Certify student attendance by required deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete course records and submit final grades on time.
  • Provide timely feedback and communicate regularly with students regarding their progress.
  • Participate in the review and selection of curricula and instructional materials within the department.
  • Engage in program reviews and contribute to achieving departmental goals.
  • Utilize knowledge of diverse learning needs to adapt teaching methods and deliver content effectively.
  • Facilitate meaningful instruction to support student learning across all assigned classes.
  • Assess and evaluate student learning outcomes regularly to ensure academic progress.
  • Participate in institutional and departmental assessment activities to improve program effectiveness.
  • Integrate instructional technologies to enhance classroom and online learning experiences.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine teaching strategies to improve student engagement and success.
  • Maintain professional competence and up-to-date knowledge in the academic discipline.
  • Maintain required professional certifications or licensure where applicable.
  • Stay current on advancements in radiologic technology and pedagogical methods that promote improved learning outcomes.
  • Engage in professional development activities to strengthen instructional skills.
  • Participate in performance reviews and evaluations.
  • Attend required commencement and graduation ceremonies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiography, Radiologic Technology, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiography.
  • Completion of a JRCERT-accredited program in radiologic technology.
  • Current ARRT and CRT required.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience as a staff radiologic technologist.
  • Teaching experience in medical radiography preferred.
  • Experience assessing student learning outcomes.
  • Prior experience in a college or higher education setting strongly desired.
  • Familiarity with distance learning and alternative instructional delivery methods preferred.
  • Advanced imaging modality experience (CT, MRI, Mammography) preferred.

Supervision
The Medical Radiography Instructor reports directly to the Program Director.
