Director of Training (Welding) – Tulsa, OK
Position Overview:Â Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Training for their Welding program in Tulsa, OK. This role is critical in ensuring that training programs achieve their objectives, maintaining high standards of instruction, and fostering a dynamic learning environment. The Director will be responsible for overseeing curriculum adherence, developing instructors, and evaluating program effectiveness while also engaging with industry associations and coordinating recruitment events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures that syllabi goals and phase objectives are met, and that syllabi, lesson plans, and curriculum are consistently followed across all classes.
- Monitors and updates all instructional materials, including handouts, videos, and text curriculum, ensuring they are applied correctly and uniformly among instructors.
- Evaluates prospective instructors’ program tests and, in collaboration with lead instructors, assesses their interactions in the lab.
- Coordinates with the Director of Education and Campus President to implement changes discussed in meetings.
- Works with the Admissions Department to organize external program in-services, contests, competitions, and demonstrations for recruiting events.
- Attends industry-related association meetings, serves as a board member or volunteer in the local chapter if applicable, and ensures instructors receive relevant periodicals and meeting information.
- Trains and mentors instructors to enhance their teaching abilities and supports students in mastering assigned subject matters.
- Conducts ongoing evaluations of employee performance and provides constructive feedback.
- Prepares and submits weekly and/or monthly reports as required.
- Identifies potential issues and proposes solutions through effective analysis of reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred, with at least two years of experience in a related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree combined with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the welding field is required.
