Director of Training (Welding) – Phoenix, AZ
Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Training for their Welding program in Phoenix, AZ. This vital role ensures that training programs are effectively delivered, maintains high standards of instruction, and fosters a supportive learning environment. The Director will oversee curriculum adherence, develop instructors, assess program effectiveness, engage with industry associations, and coordinate recruitment events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure syllabus goals and phase objectives are met, with consistent application of lesson plans and curriculum across all classes.
- Monitor and update all instructional materials (handouts, videos, curriculum), ensuring uniform application by instructors.
- Evaluate prospective instructors’ program knowledge and, with lead instructors, assess their lab performance.
- Collaborate with the Director of Education and Campus President to implement changes as discussed in team meetings.
- Partner with the Admissions Department to organize recruitment events such as in-services, contests, and demonstrations.
- Attend industry association meetings, engage as a board member or volunteer if relevant, and ensure instructors have access to industry periodicals and updates.
- Train and mentor instructors to strengthen their teaching skills and support students in mastering course materials.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare and submit weekly and/or monthly reports as required.
- Identify and address potential issues by analyzing reports and proposing solutions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is preferred, along with at least two years of experience in a relevant field.
- A Bachelor’s degree combined with a minimum of ten years of relevant experience is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the welding field is required.
