Director of Training, HVAC – Phoenix, AZ
A leading career education institution in Phoenix is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Training to oversee the operations, curriculum development, and instructional quality of its Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) training program. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high-quality technical education aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and student success outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the HVAC training program.
- Supervise, support, and develop faculty and instructional staff.
- Ensure curriculum and lab experiences reflect current HVAC technologies and meet accreditation and licensing standards.
- Coordinate with admissions, career services, and compliance departments to support institutional goals.
- Monitor instructional performance through classroom observations, evaluations, and student feedback.
- Maintain industry partnerships to keep training relevant and support graduate employment pathways.
- Lead initiatives related to program growth, quality assurance, and student outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, with leadership or instructional background preferred.
- Previous experience managing or teaching in a technical training or postsecondary environment strongly preferred.
- Relevant HVAC certifications and licensure (EPA, NATE, etc.).
- Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team of instructors in a student-centered learning environment.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with curriculum development and regulatory compliance (e.g., ACCSC, COE, or similar).
- Familiarity with student retention strategies and academic performance tracking.
- A commitment to hands-on education and career-readiness for students entering the skilled trades.
