Director of Student Services – Dallas, TX

Position Summary: This role involves coordinating, managing, and supervising the activities of Student Services personnel dedicated to assisting and serving students.


  • Ensure compliance with local and national laws, regulations, and standards related to student service practices, maintaining up-to-date knowledge and practical application of these.
  • Lead retention efforts and ensure retention targets are met.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce student policies and procedures that promote student learning and support the educational program.
  • Manage the Ability to Benefit program, ensuring compliance with all regulations and procedures.
  • Calculate, track, and advise students on Standards of Academic Progress.
  • Recruit, train, conduct performance evaluations, and provide supervision and support to all student services staff.
  • Create and sustain programs to assist students in areas such as housing, academic and personal counseling, transportation, and other essential coping skills.
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, academics, and finances; maintain documentation for audits.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and/or monthly reports as required.
  • Analyze reports to identify potential issues and solutions.
  • Attend semi-annual graduation ceremonies as mandatory.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two years of experience in a related field are required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with at least ten years of related experience is strongly preferred.

People Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of employees in the Student Services Department, executing supervisory duties in line with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Physical Environment:

  • The majority of work is conducted in a temperature-controlled office setting.
  • The role involves sitting for extended periods, using calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment.
  • May require stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Some tasks may be performed in classroom or workshop settings.
