Director of IT

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at all locations. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and the development of new technical solutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. Master’s preferred.


  • 10+ years of total IT experience including computer operations management, multiple roles in systems implementation, supervision of technical personnel, architecture, security/compliance, business-wide strategic planning, and budgetary responsibility. Verifiable track record of effective leadership which includes strong strategic thinking and successful execution with technical and intellectual resources. Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization.
  • Prefer 5+ years of experience working with EMR/EHR systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide general oversight of the IT infrastructure, provisioning, planning, installation, and operation
  • Provide overall IT governance for the firm
  • Plan, implement and monitor changes in infrastructure configurations
  • Install new servers and configure hardware
  • Establish and measure IT performance relative to cost, value creation, and customer satisfaction in the key areas of operating systems, telecommunications, network management, and desktop support
  • Lead and coordinate selection, installation, operation, support, and maintenance of information technology infrastructure (i.e. operating systems, networks, telecommunications, hardware, and peripherals)
  • Perform daily backup operations
  • Protect the company and its operations against IT risks, including unauthorized access to information, data integrity problems, loss of processing capability, and poor service levels
  • Manage help desk for tickets assigned to the queue and ensure the process of first-in-first-out based on priority
  • Translate business needs into system solutions making maximum use of available tools while ensuring longer-term supportability of the architecture manage system hardware, operating systems, software, and procedures that adhere to company values and goals
  • Work with team to enhance current technologies to improve customer services
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on information technology
  • Manage IT staff, which includes hiring, training, guidance, and discipline
  • Develop best practices and written documentation for all server maintenance
  • Set office automation standards within the company and oversee the acquisition, deployment, and support of office support systems
  • Manage the financial aspect of IT development
  • Manage hardware and software vendor relationships
  • Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions
  • Directs and prioritizes the workload of subordinate personnel
  • Participates in all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts
  • Performs salary administration and conducts interviews and makes recommendations for new hires, consultants and/or replacement personnel
