Dean of Nursing – Orange Park, FL

Our client is seeking a Dean of Nursing to provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for their nursing program at their Orange Park, FL campus. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the program remains responsive to the needs of the community and healthcare system, while fostering an organizational culture of excellence, collegiality, and professional development for students, faculty, and staff.

The Dean of Nursing will serve as the program’s primary representative to campus administration, regulatory and accreditation bodies, advisory committees, and other internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the nursing program, ensuring high-quality education and student outcomes.
  • Oversee curriculum development, program implementation, and evaluation to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure the nursing program aligns with the needs of the local healthcare industry and evolving nursing education standards.
  • Foster a positive and professional organizational culture that supports faculty and student well-being, growth, and collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to campus administration, accreditation and regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor nursing faculty and staff, ensuring a high level of teaching excellence.
  • Manage program accreditation and compliance with state and national nursing education standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical partners to enhance student learning experiences and clinical placements.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to assess program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Active, unencumbered RN or APRN license in Virginia or multistate privilege to practice.
  • Doctoral degree in nursing or a health-related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including at least two years as nursing faculty in a professional nursing education program.
  • At least one year of experience in an administrative or management role within nursing education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Database Management, Email).
  • Strong written, oral communication, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive and supportive role model for students and faculty.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screening, immunizations, and certifications (CPR, HIPAA, etc.).
