Key Responsibilities:
The Dean of Nursing (DON), reporting directly to the institution’s senior leadership, will oversee clinical operations, faculty development, and core student engagement at their assigned campus. The Dean will collaborate closely with campus leadership to drive strategic decisions that align with the institution’s overarching mission and values.
Essential Duties:
The Dean of Nursing may assume one or more of the following responsibilities, depending on campus size and specific needs:
Clinical Instruction Oversight:
- Cultivate and sustain partnerships with clinical entities to enhance academic-practice integration.
- Conduct evaluations of clinical sites to ensure alignment with curricular goals.
- Partner with the Nursing Lab Manager to organize lab and simulation experiences.
- Supervise Clinical Coordinators to ensure clinical education outcomes are met.
Faculty Development:
- Facilitate workshops to enhance faculty instructional methods.
- Oversee and assess the implementation of the nursing curriculum.
- Mentor new faculty members and provide essential resources for their success.
Student Support:
- Address student concerns, manage disciplinary matters, and resolve complaints.
- Foster an environment conducive to academic excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide academic advising, facilitate communication, and support faculty-student relationships.
- Oversee student associations and extracurricular engagement.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Lead curriculum implementation, establish strategic objectives, and ensure alignment with institutional goals.
- Regularly interact with students to promote a student-centered educational experience.
- Compliance and Administration:
- Ensure the clinical curriculum is delivered in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain compliant records, including faculty credentials and student documentation.
- Serve as Program Administrator as necessary.

Qualifications:
Must Have:
- A Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of three years of experience as a professional registered nurse in direct patient care.
- At least three years of full-time teaching experience in a nursing program at a higher education institution.
- A current, unencumbered professional nursing license in the state where the campus is located or a qualifying multi-state license.
Preferred:
- A doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or DNP) from an accredited institution.
- Proven leadership experience, including prior experience in teaching, curriculum development, and academic program management.
- Certification as a Nurse Educator and/or national certification in a nursing specialty.
