Purpose of the Role: The Career Service Director plays a vital role in facilitating the job search and placement process for both students and graduates. This involves coordinating various activities such as presentations, workshops, and seminars to aid in career development. The coordinator is also responsible for maintaining confidential records, including detailed student profiles and referral information, ensuring the resolution of any student inquiries or issues related to job placement in compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation and Employer Relations:
    • Develop and maintain an active system for generating job leads.
    • Engage with local employers to gather job opening information, share educational program details, and foster employment relationships.
    • Organize employer field trips, participate in job fairs, and create promotional materials to attract job opportunities.
    • Research and identify entry-level positions using various methods such as calls, ads, and online resources.
  • Student and Graduate Placement Support:
    • Input all placement-related data accurately and promptly into the CampusVue system.
    • Meet or exceed the placement rates set by the Campus Dean and Corporate staff.
    • Review and improve resumes, cover letters, and provide guidance on professional conduct and interview techniques.
    • Actively support graduates in their job search until successful employment is achieved, offering workshops on employability skills.
    • Offer personalized career counseling, including resume advice, interview preparation, and follow-up strategies.
    • Educate students on job roles, compensation, work conditions, and other employment-related information.
    • Facilitate matches between graduates and job requirements, monitor interview progress, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Administrative and Developmental Tasks:
    • Maintain detailed records of student and graduate interactions and employment verification documents.
    • Log weekly activities, ensuring all interactions are documented in the CampusVue database.
    • Assist in school-related activities, such as graduation ceremonies and orientation sessions.
    • Conduct and analyze feedback from graduates and employers to enhance placement services.
    • Complete an individual development plan, participate in professional development activities, and undergo an annual performance review.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
    • Relevant experience of 1 to 3 years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Exceptional organizational capabilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in both written and oral communication.

Work Environment:

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel, less than 10% required.
  • Office Setting: Standard office environment with occasional physical demands, such as lifting up to 10 lbs.
