Campus President in Training – Jacksonville, FL

The Campus President in Training provides vital support to the Campus President in overseeing strategic direction, leadership, and operational success. This position plays a key role in achieving academic and operational goals while fostering a campus culture grounded in organizational values.

Responsibilities:

  • Talent Management: Assist the Campus President with overseeing talent management, including hiring, developing, empowering, and retaining a strong team. Ensure team members have the necessary resources to perform effectively.
  • Functional Leadership: Collaborate with the Campus President to lead the campus, staff, and programs to meet or exceed growth expectations.
  • Student Focus: Support the Campus President in ensuring high-quality faculty, programs, and services for students. Prioritize educational standards, student outcomes, inclusion, and satisfaction.
  • Financial Oversight: Work closely with the finance department and campus leadership to ensure financial goals are met. Proactively address financial issues, monitor expenses, and oversee the campus P&L.
  • Campus Growth and Sustainability: Participate in local strategic planning processes, assess market needs, and define campus strategies. Develop and implement actionable goals to support campus growth.
  • Student Life Cycle Management: Monitor and optimize metrics such as enrollments, start rates, retention, graduation, and employment outcomes.
  • Change Management: Serve as a change champion, fostering shared goals and team building. Establish a strong presence on campus, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • External Outreach and Relations: Build networks and connections with local community members, employers, accreditation agencies, and politicians. Serve on advisory boards and engage with local charities.
  • Compliance: Develop a strong understanding of regulatory and accreditation requirements. Ensure compliance at all levels and promote a culture of ethical professionalism. Oversee institutional assessments, audits, and internal compliance measures.
  • Policy and Standards Maintenance: Help establish and maintain campus standards while driving alignment in academic and operational processes. Ensure adherence to institutional policies and procedures.
  • Culture Ambassador: Foster a student- and employee-centric campus culture rooted in core values. Lead by example, demonstrating optimism, work ethic, and integrity.
  • Event Participation: Mandatory attendance at semi-annual graduation ceremonies.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Education, or a related field, with at least five years of professional management experience in career education or a related industry. Proven leadership and operational experience, including budget oversight.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree and experience in highly regulated environments. P&L management experience and knowledge across functional areas such as Admissions, Academics, Career Services, Finance, and Compliance. Experience engaging with community leaders and politicians.

People Responsibilities:
Support the Campus President in overseeing campus operations and manage supervisory responsibilities in compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Physical Environment:

  • Most work occurs in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk or computer terminal may be required.
  • Use of office equipment such as calculators, keyboards, and telephones.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be necessary.
  • Some duties may occur in a classroom or shop environment.
